Suzanne A. Vandiver, CPA

Suzanne Vandiver, audit manager, earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting at Middle Tennessee State University and became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1986. She joined the firm upon graduation and has been with JHA since then. Suzanne has over 30 years of experience conducting and directing audits of organizations in various industries, including governments, non-profits, long-term care facilities, and other medium and small businesses. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for all phases of the financial audit, including planning and review of the audit work, consultation with management on accounting issues, and assistance in preparing financial statements. She has extensive experience working with governments, including small and mid-size cities and school systems, on complex matters, making recommendations for improvements, and broad knowledge and experience with the Single Audit process and all aspects of federal grant compliance and testing. Suzanne also has considerable experience in tax preparation and planning. Early in her career, she attended three years of the National Tax Education Program conducted at the University of Illinois. She is active in her church, including service on the praise team. Suzanne is also active in the community serving on the Rutherford County Audit Committee, with previous service on the boards of the Rutherford CABLE organization and the Borodash benefit race. She is a member of the TN Government Finance Officers Association. Suzanne and her husband, Phillip, have two grown daughters and two grandchildren.
